Here’s what some people are saying about the band:
“Sublime lyrics and great licks, Doc Brown are a force to be reckoned with.
Book them before you can’t afford them!”
Damien O’Kane (BBC Radio 2 Folk Award Nominee)
“…the band with the coolest name in the world!”
Keith Forster (MTS)
(Regarding our new album ‘Live : In Our Backyard’)
“Doc Brown bring a range of styles and diversity to the album and thoughtful lyrics to the songs. I also enjoyed the band jams in places on the album – the band cooks away mixing up a good head of steam!”
Award-winning guitarist Tony Cox
“After a mere year and a half gigging round Sheffield Doc Brown (And The Delorians Of Sound) have already caused a stir with their infectiously sophisticated sound. Combining aspects of folk, jazz, soul, blues, ska and country, this delicious blend of music is brilliant to chill, think, or be plain lazy to.
Dirty Dishes begins with the melancholy piano of Can’t You See. This subtle arrangement of instruments and harmonies had me excited straight away. Wondering what was up next I was happy to find my fave on the EP – Summer Song. This mellow track is complete with the soulful voice of Hannah Geyevu, some more cleverly arranged instruments and a fantastic funky-ska breakdown between verses. Duncan McIntyre’s sax on this track is wicked, especially in the funk, but he’s not even started to show off his expertise yet. Dirty Dishes moves into a more jammed out state for the next two songs. As the singers take a chill, the rest of the band come out to play and with lashings of sax, piano, guitar and some wicked drums n bass they sure know how to play.
I have to be honest, I am probably a tad biased towards these guys as their music is right up my street. Still, these are talented, quality tunes that are easy on the ear, full of vibe and without a gimmick in sight.”

The music is excellent, but you need to get more rock & roll as you play it!

I’d love to join your band, are you looking for a white african drummer? I heard there’s not too many of them in Sheffield- not!
